 Introduction

Travelogue of Ibn Battuta

In this book, which I have dared to translate from Arabic into Urdu and publish for the people of my country, there is an account of the journey of a Muslim traveler of this era, which should be called the last century of Islamic civilization. It was the 8th century of Bajira and the 14th century of Christian history. This century is a very important era in the history of the world because just as this century can be called the beginning of the decline of Islamic civilization, in the same way this century is considered to be the beginning of the development of European civilization and if considered, these two things are necessary. And they were guilty because I will now prove that in Europe, Queen Elizabeth and Emperor Charles V and the King of France were considered as their contemporaries and the most powerful kings of their time, but there is no word in this that they were not at all in wealth and power. There were no equals of these Islamic kings, and until that time, Sahih could not compete with the Islamic world either in power, in civilization, or in science. But in that era, the key of civilization was lost from the hands of the Muslims and the irony was that they neither knew that the key was lost nor did they know what that key was. On this occasion, a very difficult question arises that has baffled the minds of good thinkers. That question is what caused the decline of civilization in Islamic countries? Often ignorant and active Christian writers attribute the civilization of Europe to the good teaching of the Christian religion and the decline of Islamic countries as the result of the teaching of Islam.

The cause of both was the same revolution, which completely changed the face of the world. I did not say that this century was the beginning of the decline of Islamic power, because in the three centuries that followed, Islamic power was at its peak. Never before in the history of Islam has there been such a period that can show the legacy of Emperor Akbar Gorgani, Sultan Sulaiman Khan Osmani, Shah Tahasp Safavi and their more than worthy successors person who is well acquainted with the history of Islamic and Christian countries will immediately say, as some Christian writers have been unable to do without, that this claim is simply baseless. History makes it clear, but it shows the exact opposite, and it is difficult to find most credible and reliable witnesses from history, conjecture and argument are seed and futile in front of it.

effect. Its effect should appear immediately after all, or after a reasonable interval, and if there is an unreasonable interval between them, then the reason for this should be something else. The introduction of Christianity quickly and completely destroyed the existing civilization and science of Greece and Rome, and finally brought southern Europe to that period that its authors still call the Dark Ages. Fourteen hundred years in the rise and penetration of religion in Europe and the beginning of civilization

There is a break. No one from a fool to a fool can logically describe both events as cause and effect. On the contrary, the effect of Islamic education was that within a few days, it brought the Arabs out of the darkness of ignorance and placed in their homes, courts and councils the civilization and education which the prejudices of the Sahih religion and Tangrai had brought to Greece and He was expelled from Italy. In spite of the fact that for forty years of unfortunate civil wars in the first century did not allow them to take leisure, and in the fifth, sixth and seventh centuries, the ignorant warriors of Europe on one side and the ignorant Mughals and Turks on the other side. did not allow them to breathe well and prevented the progress of civilization, but they suffered both these troubles.

Although the power went away from them for some time, but because the civilization still remained and therefore there was a strong hope that the power would come back again. So it happened that in the 8th, 9th and 10th centuries, power returned even more than before, but the passion for learning civilization and sciences decreased. Because I have proved the hypothesis of a connection between the teaching of Islam and the decline of civilization to be a trivial hypothesis.

Therefore, I will now tell what was the real cause of the development and decline of the civilization of Islamic countries and what was the end of this civilization. The answer is a very short word, trade, but the answer is priceless. The country in which Islam was born and in which it flourished, one
